I grew up in Maine, went to college in Connecticut, live in Brooklyn, NY for two years, then met some boy and moved to Austin, Texas. He's gone, but I like it here, even though they don't have real autumn. Or winter, as far as I can tell. Austin is an amazing community, and I'm so pleased I made an idiot move and wound up in Bat City.
I have two cats, Telemachus and Turkleton. They're really freaking cute.
I worked for a while as an inventory manager in the kids department at a pretty cool bookstore. I loved it. I love children's literature, and I think most of the best stuff is being written for kids right now. I especially love books for teens. I swear this stuff didn't exist when I was in high school.
I'm a poet and young adult novelist, with plenty of credentials in the poetry column and some stuff in the works for YA. I'm currently in the querying process and relishing every minute of it. This flashy magazine mimesis, recently published my first digital chapbook. I'm also a big fan, supporter, and sometimes contributor to Fuselit. Yay!
If you want to ask me about books, writing, Austin, whatever, feel free! I'm a chatty, chatty girl.
